Building Climate-Resilient Mediterranean Cities

SLOA participates as a subcontractor to LocalAI in BeatTheHeat II, a European initiative focused on improving urban climate resilience and tackling the growing challenges of extreme heat in Mediterranean cities.

Building on the original BeatTheHeat project, the initiative expands innovative, data-driven solutions to Kalamata (Greece) and Codogno (Italy). It combines environmental monitoring, urban heat mapping, thermal comfort analysis, and sustainable mobility planning to support smarter and more resilient urban environments.

By promoting the reuse of digital services and the exchange of environmental data across European cities, BeatTheHeat II aims to help local authorities make informed decisions, improve public spaces, and develop more sustainable urban infrastructure.
